Preview of Dr. John Gray’s newest PBS special and book Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice: Hormonal Balance – The Key to Life, Love and Energy.

As some of you may know, I have been following Dr. John Gray’s work very closely for about ten years now. And since the book Venus on Fire, Mars on Iceis not available for public yet (You can pre-order it by clicking here) I thought I would give you my pre-view and sneak peek about some of his new ideas to you.

It has been very exciting for me to follow Dr. Gray’s process as he has been developing the ideas for this book. For the past five years I have been an assistant to him in his Mars Venus cleansing and wellness retreats in Fort Bragg, CA. During these past five years, I have had the privilege to hear hundreds of hours of his talks, presentations, and lectures and to first hand witness the evolution of his ideas.

Ever since his first best seller Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus what has been especially fascinating to me is to see how the ideas he initially presented about gender difference over 25 years ago with only anecdotal evidence are now starting to be proven true.

Due to our developments in advanced brain research, brain scans, and our overall understanding of our biological differences his ideas about the differences between men and women are finally being validated scientifically.

It was about 15 years ago, however, that he discovered yet another insight. Many of his clients, readers, and followers at the time were receiving phenomenal results in their relationships and marriages by implementing his ideas, yet Dr. John Gray realized something was still seriously missing in most relationships.

Some of his clients and readers would greatly improve their marriage or relationships by understanding his insights only after awhile to fall back to a slump again. It was at some point that it became very clear to him that to sustain the deep feelings of love as well as sexual passion over time, relationships skills alone were clearly not enough.

What he discovered was how vitally important role our diet and our philosophy about exercise play not only in cultivating our health, but also in cultivating the health of our relationships.

In other words, he recognized that no matter how good of an understanding you have about relationships, unless you also take in the raw materials (nutritious food) and take care of the health of your body, your brain wouldn’t be able to make the good feel hormones and brain chemicals to sustain optimal feelings of love and happiness.

Since that time he has devoted his time to researching the best health, diet, and exercise solutions for creating optimal brain chemistry, while of course also taking in consideration the unique differences of men and women.

In his latest book Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice he explains how the current stressful times we live in has created a new problem: namely the reduced production of the hormone testosterone in men and the hormone oxytocin in women.

In the book Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice, Dr. Gray will explain in detail how couples can stimulate the production of these hormones through understanding advanced relationship skills as well by understanding more about nutrition, sleep patterns, sex, and exercise.

Having followed, compared, and tried many aspects of his diet and exercise plan for years I can personally attest to how effective his ideas are.

Basically, the main difference between men and women is that a man’s stress levels are reduced (as directly measured by your body’s cortisol levels) when the production of testosterone is stimulated, while a woman’s stress levels are lowered by the production of the hormone oxytocin.

To put this in context, any activity a man does that produces testosterone, like playing basketball, watching TV, racing cars, climbing mountains, etc. has a direct effect in lowering his stress levels. On the other hand, any activity that stimulates the production of oxytocin like getting a massage, talking and sharing with good friends, holding a baby, etc. has a direct effect in lowering women’s stress levels.

The sad reality is that in the recent years both men’s and women’s hormonal levels have consistently being lowering due to the increased stress we are experiencing in our lives, the toxic environment we are exposed to, and the poor quality food that most of us in the United States eat.

This, as Dr. John Gray puts it, has caused Mars to be covered on Ice while Venus is flaming on fire. In other words, what most women are experiencing in their lives today is a overbearing sense of overwhelm with too many things to do without enough time in the day to do it all, while most men are feeling more and more exhausted just wanting to lay on the couch.

By watching Dr. John Gray’s new PBS Special Mars On Ice, Venus On Fire (see the program schedule here) or by reading his new book, you will learn how to intelligently reduce your stress levels by learning how to stimulate the production of testosterone and oxytocin in your relationships as well as how to implement his practical, yet powerful ideas about nutrition, sex, diet, sleep patterns, and exercise in to your life.

Through improving your communication skills as well as by up dating your knowledge about health and nutrition Dr. Gray promises that you will learn natural ways on how to lower your stress and to increase the passion and love in your life in order to turn your relationship from a source of problem into a fountain of youth and vitality.
