The Bible is the best book for relationships. Unfortunately, without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ it just comes down to words with good advice, not living bread that can change hearts and free people from deep inner issues that interfere with relationships. Shortly after my first experience with Jesus in a real way, I started to pray for inner healing as I was aware that some of my reactions were far too overboard. Jesus answered by connecting me with a woman anointed for inner healing who one day would become my wife. Without healing those inner issues, and without Jesus to heal our hearts from the wounds we gave each other (mainly me giving wounds to her), we would never have made it. Sex is an important part of the relationship, and when two people have sex their hearts marry. You cannot get married on Friday night and divorce the next day by not calling without it affecting your heart in a very negative way. Our hearts were created to love and be loved, not to harden and pre-occupy with selfish desires. Jesus alone can heal the individuals in a marriage and make the two become one flesh. My life is a testimony of that, and I appreciate what you wrote about making it holy and special. Don't forget to include lots of prayer about the potential partner as many can look good in the beginning and end up being unfaithful or even evil. Jesus will reveal to those who seek His will who is right to marry, as He did for us.

I really like the way that you have portrayed both sides to the issue and brought up several arguments for the reasoning behind waiting and not waiting. I recently have engaged in a relationship and I have found myself almost pushing the waiting card a bit, when in the past that had not been an issue at all. So thanks for your advise and I really think that this will get me on the right track!
